27 weeks

I've been a bad blogger. I'm now 27 weeks and I'm twice as big as 23 weeks, but still need to take today's picture to show you. Things have been good with pregnancy. I'll be in the 3rd trimester next week, which is crazy! We are slowly getting the nursery ready. We have the crib in the box and we've painted the room. BUT, we are repainting the room b/c we don't like it. At some point when the nursery is more put together, I'll post pictures. Here's a picture of my most favorite nursery:

We are modeling our nursery after this, but it won't look just like this. I don't even know if it will look like this at all, but I still love it and we'll love baby boy Womack's just as much!

He is still just our little monkey, as he remains nameless. We have a short list, but this baby might not have a name until he arrives - and we are fine with that. He's also moving a lot and I'm really enjoying that. I actually felt a roll the other day instead of just a kick. What a wild feeling!

23 weeks

Here are some pics and a video I promised you from NYC...

At 20 weeks, which was 3 weeks ago.

Josh and I, Women's semis.

Kim Clijsters serving (look at those quads!). We really loved watching her play. She is the best sport and has such a great attitude. Never complained. Never grunted. Very enjoyable. She also reminds us of Gretchen, so that means we liked her even more.

Venus's departure from losing.

This is Kim's departure after winning the match. Josh is the one in the green jacket right by the camera. You'll see him throw his red hat down at her. She was signing everything, and the little kids would even throw those over-sized tennis balls at her.

So this morning, now at 23 weeks, I just couldn't smile - like Chandler Bing. I think I take really bad pictures in the morning b/c my face is swollen or something. So I chose to share with you the one that I purposefully looked bad in. But, who cares about my face? It's my belly you're all wondering about!

How are you?

My good friend from the 3rd grade, K-ren, as I like to call her, and I emailed back and forth 16 times today. You'd think they'd come up with some form of instant messaging by now. We were talking 10-year reunion stuff since it's only a few weeks away, and I mentioned that we should have a standard answer when people ask us, "How are you?"...which I absolutely hate b/c no one cares and there's no meaning behind it. I left it to her to decide how we should answer b/c she's the witty one. These are our options:

Hey how are you?
a. Fine. I briefly considered becoming a man in 2006 but decided against it. How are you?
b. Doing well, especially since I got my 11th toe removed.
c. I was great until I saw your ugly face. I forgot how much I hate you.
d. You are the father/mother of my child and I was too afraid to tell you until now.
e. (say nothing, just fall to the floor like you are sleeping/dead)
f. I'm doing well. Have you met my partner?
g. I really shouldn't be here since I didn't technically "graduate" until last year.
h. (this would be for Jamie only) I am good. This isn't Josh's baby but don't tell him that.

I am going to use them all at least once except for e. because that would hurt.

Which one would you choose?

Long Overdue

So, let's pretend I am blogging about a week ago because that's when I intended to.

1. We went to NYC on 9/8 to go to the US Open (tennis tournament for those of you who aren't familiar). It was an amazing experience and we want to go back every year. We got to see some incredible matches, the best being a semifinals match against Kim Clijsters and Venus Williams, in which we were horrible Americans and cheered for Kimmie Poo Poo (as Josh calls her). If you love tennis, you'd love it even more after going to this tournament. It's such a different experience seeing it in person, just as any sporting event is. The rest of the time in NY was spent walking around and seeing Ground Zero on 9/11. I'll post pics and maybe a video or two later.

2. We got back on 9/12 and the next day was my birthday, but more importantly that's the day we had our anatomy sonogram. I posted it on FB, but it's a healthy boy and we are thrilled beyond belief! I'll never forget that appointment. Now it's time to start planning, registering and narrowing down the name.

3. I first experienced the baby flutters on the plane to NY and then again after we landed. I just knew this was going to happen b/c Mindy felt her little one after she landed in Zambia, and I couldn't get that out of my mind. I figure it had something to do with the pressure in the air. Now I'm feeling him about daily and can't wait until the movements get stronger and more regular.

4. I am now 21 weeks and 4 days. Everything has been great and I'm feeling really good. I'm feeling more and more hungry, so just trying to keep up by eating about every 2 hours. You should see the lunch I pack. It looks like I'm packing for a family of 4.

18 Weeks

Yesterday marked 18 weeks. I still haven't felt the baby flutters...I am very ready for that. Things have been going well and we are getting more and more excited as my belly continues to grow. In just 2 weeks and 3 days, we'll find out the sex and the planning will begin. We also decided to switch doctors and hospitals. We're now going to deliver at Baylor instead of Medical City. We decided to take a tour of Baylor and fell in love with it. We really liked their rooms, their ideals and felt very comfortable there. Their labor and delivery rooms look like something out of a Pottery Barn catalog and their postpartum rooms are sleek and modern - perfect for us! We had a meet and greet with a recommended doctor and knew he was right for us. It'll be interesting to switch to a male doctor b/c I've always gone to a female ob/gyn, but he made me feel very comfortable and everyone in their office is a Christian, so that gave us tons of comfort!

If you didn't have the pleasure of seeing the "Wo-hawk" on Facebook, I'll leave you with that. I can't believe this guy's gonna be a daddy. :)

Dog Saves Dog

Some might say that I love dogs more than humans, and they are mostly right. I am uber-sensitive when it comes to dogs and cry at the littlest things. And this goes for almost all animals. A friend of mine posted this today, so I had to share it.

The Apple of Our Eye

Today marks 15 weeks of pregnancy. I'm hungry all the time (what's new) and just experiencing some headaches here and there. Here's how babycenter describes Baby Womack: it measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). Its legs are growing longer than the arms now, and it can move all of its joints and limbs. Although the eyelids are still fused shut, it can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, it's likely to move away from the beam.

We'll find out the sex of the baby on my birthday, Monday, September 13th. We are anxiously awaiting that special day! We go back and forth with what we think it is, but really don't care either way, just really excited. My sister is having a girl so that was fun news for our family. Noah is getting so big and is really starting to talk a lot. His newest additions are "Buzz" for Buzz Lightyear and "Oh man!" I think the Oh man is my favorite b/c he sometimes leaves off the "n," so it sounds like "Oh ma!" Here's a picture of him taken today as he was flipping through a Crate and Barrel magazine:
